Mathematics

At St John's we support pupils to move from reception to Y6 and ready for high school through a carefully sequenced curriculum following the White Rose Hub scheme of planning. We want pupils to develop a deep understanding of mathematics which means being very fluent with their knowledge e.g. times tables as well as being able to show their mastery of the learning through developing their reasoning about number.

Below you will find an overview of the learning in each year group across the school. There are also two files. One shows the progression in knowledge and skills across the national curriculum. The other shows what children need to achieve to be 'ready to progress' to the next phase of learning in light of the missed school time due to the pandemic.
