OPAL - Outdoor Play and Learning

We are working hard on developing our playtimes. We have always been blessed with fantastic grounds, but it is only now that its full potential is starting to be utilised through our OPAL approach.

The children have access to the grounds and use them to let their imagination run wild. We provide them with interesting spaces to play in and lots of loose parts to use. They come up with all sorts of interesting and creative ways to play. We see all sorts of wonderful traits being developed such as resilience, team work and negotiation not to mention the many, many steps covered over the large grounds!

Of course, if you live in Macclesfield you know how wet it can be so we make sure the children have access to wellies and waterproof trousers to make as much use of our site all year round. As the old adage goes, there is no such thing as bad weather just bad clothes.

Please keep an eye on the newsletter as we are open to any donations. The list of loose parts for play is below.
