Special Educational Needs

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school and work very hard to make sure all children can participate in the life of the school. Our recent OFSTED inspection (September 2023) noted that 'Leaders have high expectations of achievement and behaviour for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).' In addition they noted that, 'Pupils
with SEND enjoy learning alongside their peers and achieve well. They participate fully in all aspects of school life.'

Our special educational needs coordinator is called Mrs Kay Clarke. Mrs Clarke works on Mondays and Tuesdays in school and works in her role for Cheshire East in the specialist SEN and Inclusion team. You can make an appointment with her by contacting the school office.

Your first port of call is always your child's class teacher who will provide the day to day suppport and additional provision that your child may need.

Below you will find a link to our SEND policy and our SEND report which outlines what we offer here at St John's.

We hold a termly SEND coffee morning where you can come and learn more about an area of need. It is a great chance to ask questions, share your experiences and have a cup of tea/coffee and a little breakfast.

The recent parent talk on autism is available to see below.
